Apple iPhone 6s Plus Description

Apple alongside iPhone 6s launched the new iPhone 6s Plus at its ‘Hey Siri’ Keynote today. The iPhone 6s Plus retains the 5.5-inch Retina display from iPhone 6 Plus, but uses a new 3D Touch technology and the glass on top is more toughened which Apple claims to be the “strongest glass cover” for an iPhone till date.
On the inside, the iPhone 6s Plus packs 64-bit A9 chip with motion co-processor M9 integrated on the SoC. The Touch ID has also been upgraded, and both iPhone 6s and 6s Plus now feature a 2nd generation Touch ID. The voice command captcha ‘Hey Siri’ has been integrated too.
For cameras, the 6s Plus now packs a 12-megapixel iSight camera with ‘50% percent more pixel and 50% more focus pixel’ allowing to auto focus even faster and more accurately, alongside a True tone LED flash. The rear camera can also shoot 4K video now.
The front FaceTime camera is now a 5-megapixel shooter with Retina flash. The iPhone 6s Plus Retina display doubles up as the flash, which gets 3 times more brighter while taking selfies.
The camera app has got an all new feature called the ‘Live Photos’ as well. In Apple’s language it “extends the capture moment”. The feature is ‘On’ by default but you can switch it off as well.

With the use of 3D Touch, users will see little animation in the photo by just pressing on it and it also includes sound. The camera app has a Live Photo mode which essentially takes frames a second & a half here and there, says Apple. Also, the company is working with Facebook to support these live photos in Facebook’s iOS app and expected to get integrated towards the year end.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus prices for two-year contract in the U.S. are same as it were with predecessors – $199 and $299 respectively. However the prices of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been reduced to $99 and $199 respectively, while the iPhone 5s is free of cost for consumers in the U.S. with two year carrier contract. Apple didn’t say anything about iPhone 5C, if it will still be available or not.
The new iPhones will be up for pre-order in the U.S and 11 other countries (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, HongKong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the U.K.) from September 12.
